The instructions as to how to install it are all picture-based and are not that intuitive - so be prepared to think carefully as to what each picture is trying to tell you.
I installed this to work with Synology Surveillance Station and it took 2 days of my time, 2 hours of (excellent) support from Use-IP and multiple "reset to factory and start again" sessions. In summary, the way to get this to work is
- do ALL the config from Surveillance Station (which will then push this to the camera). Do not do some config on Surveillance Station and then sign onto the camera and do some more directly
- set all alarm, motion detection, etc. to be recognized by the camera and not by Surveillance Station (as otherwise you'll flood your network with constant video feeds from the camera to Surveillance Station for the motion detection, etc.)
- When setting up the camera for the first time from Surveillance Station DO NOT tick the "use original camera settings" boxes. It took 2 days for me to find out that if I selected these, saved all the settings in Surveillance Station and then signed onto the camera to set motion detection that the connection between the camera and Surveillance Station then doesn't work properly. And once this had happened, nothing I did managed to resync the two. (Posted on 20 May 2018)
