The NVR1218 can be easily set up for use with a computer or a monitor and can be accessed remotely via the Synology Surveillance Station or DS cam mobile application. The NVR1218 comes with 4 camera licenses pre-installed meaning 4 IP cameras can be attached to the NVR. In order to expand this further (max. 12) additional licences will need to be purchased. You can check compatibility of other manufacturers' IP cameras with this unit on the Synology Website. Please note that Synology NVR's are supplied without hard drives.
