Multiple cameras can be used by SecuritySpy simultaneously. Video from all cameras can be viewed simultaneously in the main video preview window. Also, each camera can be viewed in its own window.
SecuritySpy features highly optimized motion detection, allowing each camera to be set up to capture video and/or still image files when motion is detected. The sensitivity of the motion detection feature can be adjusted by the user for optimum output and detection of motion can be set to all or only part of the video image.
The SecuritySpy software includes a timelapse capture feature which can be used to maintain constant capture that is not linked to motion detection 24 hours a day.
SecuritySpy compresses captured video in MPEG-4 codec, and still images are saved in JPEG format. The video itself is captured as standard QuickTime movies which can then be accessed by practically all video software on the Mac.
The captured image files can be optionally uploaded to a remote computer or web server via FTP so that footage can be viewed on the Internet and/or held safe at a remote location.
Video from both before and after a motion event, even though the motion is not high enough to trigger recording, often holds something interesting happening in the video that is worth capturing. For this purpose SecuritySpy has Pre-capture and Post-capture features. The Pre-capture feature works by keeping a buffer of frames in memory to so that when motion is detected the video before the time of motion is also captured.

Hi
I have a nestbox camera, that is wired to my Macbook Pro. Will this software work with such a camera, or does the camera have to be a networked IP camera?

Hello Alan,
I believe that Security Spy software will work with USB webcams, but as we do not sell them I'm sorry to say we have no experience of using the software with webcams.

Is it a requirement to use this software on a Mac to have to set up a NAS ?
I am hoping to record to a MacBookPro Hard Drive directly and then copy to
separate Hard Disks or DVDs afterwards.
Ultimate purpose to view recordings on TV.
Using Y-Cam Bullets.
Thanks.

Hello Peter,
No, you do not have to use a NAS unless you wish to do so.
