Product Questions (1)

Hi,
i am interested in the TP-LINK TLPOE10R POE Splitter. But i have a confusion i would like cleared first.

from the topology shown on page 4 of the user guide, and the specifications shown, the splitter should be able to provide power up to 12v dc to the ethernet device.

However on page 1 of the user manual the 'NOTE' states that:

" TL-POE10R is applicable to the device that has no external connections other than the Ethernet cable"

Please clarify what is meant by "no external connections". it seems obvious that a POE device is there to replace the need for local power source where the ethernet device is installed. But the statement on page 1 has me all confused, since the device would abvously have a power connector (be it from the mains OR the splitter) in addition to the ethernet cable.

Thus better be safe than sorry.
Thanks
p.s. great site
